OK! Magazine 5th Anniversary Party

I've had some fun times here in Los Angeles, but nothing comes close to last night!

My friend AJ invited me to the OK! Magazine 5th Annivesary party.  We were both a little skeptical ("I hope it's fun..."), but it turned out to be a great night.

The party was at La Vida, a venue I hadn't been to.  It was an interesting layout, but really nice.  From an event planning point-of-view, the entrance was a little dismal for a party like this, however the rest of the place was fabulous.  AJ and I did a round before "committing to a location" (a la Clueless) and decided the best place to start would be at the cupcake table.  They had all of these delectable/precious cupcakes with mini fondant photos of their magazine and photos of celebrities, like the Glee cast.  Of course I picked the one with Mark Salling on it (Dallas!!!).  There were also these really cute mini waffle cones filled with icing and they looked like baby ice cream cones!  PRECIOUS!  Everyone that knows me knows I love anything tiny, so I was obsessed with these.  The desserts were provided by Sweet E's mini bake shop, and I can guarantee you that when I need to throw a fabulous birthday party for a friend that I will be calling them up!

Anyway, Svedka vodka was sponsoring the whole sha-bang so everyone was treating themselves to some personalized (and free) Svedka cocktails.

I had no idea who was going to show at this thing, but some of my favorites were there!  I was praying to God my sister from another mister, Kim Kardashian, was going to make an appearance... unfortunately she was watching Kelly Osbourne perform with the Pussycat Dolls at the Roxy.

Before I get into who all was there, I met a really nice man last night by the name of Todd.  He started Reality Cares, an organization that pairs celebrities with charities, and he was the unsaid king of the soiree.  He knew everyone!  He came out of nowhere and introduced himself to me and AJ and the rest of the night it was like we were his best friends.  He made sure we met everyone and that we weren't alone, which was so nice considering we had just met.  I was nervous that nobody would talk to us so it was really refreshing to meet him and his friend Shannon.  I hope to work with Reality Cares in the future!

Anyway, what you all are really wanting to know... who was there!

Holly Madison and Bridgette Marquardt, The Girls' Next Door

Aiden Turner, Dancing With the Stars, whom I worked with last week

Jonathan Cheban, The Spin Crowd

Doug Reinhardt, The Hills

Vienna from The Bachelor, who looked fabulous without her extensions and new haircut!

Candace Cameron Bure, Full House

Apparently Giuliana and Bill Rancic were both there!  Blast!  I didn't get to see either of them which was sad.  One day I will be the new E! Host and will be married to a very successful businessman (or so I'd like to think).

Duncan and Dave from The Buried Life.  I love the show, so meeting them and having them be really nice was gratifying.  In case you've been living under a rock, The Buried Life is a reality show on MTV that follows four men on their quest to cross things off their bucket list, like playing basketball with Obama, going to a party at the Playboy Mansion, helping to deliver a baby, and so on.  While the show depicts them and how they plan to achieve these things, they also follow the guys as they help other people.  They've done everything from connect missing relatives to help people get over their fears.  It's an inspiring show, especially with all the ridiculous crap that's on TV these days.  I'd say it's right up there with Extreme Home Makeover -- I've cried at an episode or two!  The best part?  All of the guys are in their 20s and are going after their goals.  So awesome.  Anyway, I had no idea (not like I should have known), but Dave is a radical dancer!  Literally, right in the middle of the party, he and some guy from Step Up 3D got into a dance off.  I felt like I was in the middle of High School Musical or something.  They were doing all of this intense head-spin stuff.  I believe their friend Ben was there with Whitney Port.

Joe Francis, Girls Gone Wild.  The funny thing about LA is that I feel like I know everyone or have met people because I've seen them on TV or in a magazine, when really I don't know them at all.  When Joe walked by, I did a double take because I thought I knew him, but obviously I didn't.  Apparently I was convincing because he acted like he knew me too, and as he passed me gave me a hug and said "good to see you."  No, Joe hasn't gotten me drunk and had me take my top off; it's just the power of pretending like you know what the heck is going on.  I should probably start going to parties and act like I know everyone... I'd have a million friends by now.  Oh Joe Francis.  I gotta give it to him, the man has built an empire.

My favorite person to meet had to be Michael Yo.  You all know Michael as Khloe's boss on KK Take Miami and as a commentator for Chelsea Lately and E! News.  However, I know Michael as Johnny Blaze from 96.7 KHFI (now KISS FM in Austin).  He was the primetime radio DJ and I listened to him every single night.  I even got a photo with him at a Backstreet Boys concert (who knows why I was there -- honestly, they were the rivals *NSYNC!  I was pretty much enticed by Satan as far as I'm concerned) and he sent me an autographed photo as well.  I can't remember why, but I think I won something.  My best friend and I were SO excited.  Anyway, after he left Austin, I always wondered what happened to him, and lo and behold I see him on the mothership, E!  It's cool seeing people you feel like you know get to where they're trying to go.  Long story short, I approached him at the party and apparently he remembered me as the "blogger" who once blogged about him before.  I was flattered but really just excited I got to chat with him, since he's in the business I aspire to be a part of one day.

All-in-all, I had a great night meeting new people and talking to others who have a common passion as myself.  I also found that not everyone in Hollywood is a shady, selfish, jealous egomaniac!  Score!
