But young or old I am told it’s the same Oh, these growing pains never go away

You know what?  There are plenty of opportunities to worry in life.  Worry about your health, your finances, your future -- and in light of the devastating shootings in Arizona, your safety.

We can prepare ourselves for things we think we have control over, but ultimately, sometimes life will throw us curve balls that we never saw coming.  And frankly?  That sucks!  I know personally that it's so annoying and sometimes even hurtful when things happen that are unexpected, things that put a dent in your reality.

One thing God has been teaching me is that things happen for a reason.  Things that may happen in life that you don't understand and don't make sense.  That when things happen that try to damage you, God will take what was meant to harm you and use it for your greater good.

Sure, there are some things that happen that we think will never have a positive meaning.  Death is one.  Failure is another.  Heartbreak probably comes to mind with some of you.  "Why did God do this?  What did God put this in my life?"  God will never do anything to harm you.  He does everything to guide you on the right path.  Maybe you needed failure to get your life together, to put your priorities in order.  Maybe a death will wake you up, make you appreciate life more.  Perhaps the heartbreak you're experiencing is necessary for your personal growth so that you can keep on the divine path he has for you.

You can't live your life worrying about what's to come.  You can't not take a chance for fear of failure.  You shouldn't refrain from opening your heart because you've gotten hurt.  You can't cage yourself in because you've experienced something traumatic.  This is where faith comes in!  When you have faith, you will love abundantly and life fully, without fear of what may or may not happen.  When faith steps in, you are content with the outcome because you know it's God's will for you.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

God gives.  He is caring, bountiful God, who loves all of His children!  Isn't that crazy?  He loves us and we do some crazy stuff down here.  We think we know it all.  We get worked up about the stupidest things.  And when we do well, he delights in that.  He's there to guide and to give 24/7.

”A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)

At times when you're worried about that is right and what steps to take,  you tend to listen to your heart.  But don't be fooled.  It is not you who is ultimately in charge.  God is directing you in the right path.  Of course, there are times when people decide to go on their own journey, without Him.  And usually that's when things get a little screwed up for them.  Because God knows what's best, so when we don't give in to his path, our lives tend to go haywire.

Don't be stubborn.  Let God guide you.  It's a lot easier that way.  Just have faith, and He will fulfill you in ways you never dreamed possible!

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass … Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.” (Psalm 37:4,7)
