Giuliana Rancic's FabFitFun Launch

FabFitFun Cake (with my Caipirinha)

Last night The Redbury was filled and fabulous for Giuliana's launch party for her new fitness, health and beauty site, FabFitFun.

The site sends you daily e-mails filled with advice from the pros and tips from G herself: her favorite jeans, beauty products, and so on.  A lot of the time they give out promo codes for discounted products and give away plenty of swag.  It's worth signing up for -- and it's free!

You all know how many times a week I say, "GIULIANA AND I ARE THE SAME PERSON!" (caps for emphasis, obviously).  Because we are.  I'll post about a product I love (i.e. a cleanse or a self tanner) and literally the next day she'll have a post about her favorite cleanses or tanning products.  It's kind of terrifying but also amazing, which makes me feel like perhaps I should be hired to write for the site.  Yes? No? Maybe?  And of course, I hope one day to emaluate G's career and have a stable hosting job, write a book and get this blog to be big, big, big!

I went to the party alone.  This can be a good and a bad thing.  First off, being alone forced me to talk and meet other people, which is conducive to networking in this town.  The bad was that I felt like an idiot who came by herself.  BUT WHATEVER.  I'm not mad about it.  In fact, I had a great time!

The party was half outside, where people could lounge and indulge in their Leblon Caipirinhas, a Brazilian cocktail that consists of muddled lime, sugar, and the alcohol.  Yeah, it was pretty much amazing.  I kept wondering where I had heard this word before, and it turns out it's from my favorite book Bergdorf Blondes.  Duh.  So with the rooftop and the Caipirinhas, I felt very Bergdorf. :) Not to mention I kept wanting to ask them to make me a "Leblon James." I don't know what that would consist of but perhaps it's something to the tune of Leblon Cachaca, some kind of overated mixer (like RedBull) and cayenne pepper for heat.

Bill was there just mingling with some people (I guess he knew them) while Giuliana did interviews and walked the red carpet.  What is it about Bill Rancic that makes me swoon?  I can't tell.  Is it his teeth?  His preppy-school boy-in-a-business suit look?  I texted Taryn last night: "BILL RANCIC IS HERE.  I'm a sucker for preppy business man."  (Obviously I was at my two drink limit).  I also think this is why I absolutely adore Jim Halpert.  Yes, Jim. Not John Krasinski.  John Kraskinski is an actor.  Jim Halpert is a business man.  He has a boyish charm.  THAT'S IT.  I'm all about the boyish charm.  Sue me.   It's rare and hard to find...  so guys, if you have it, CHERISH IT.  I happen to think these two lucked out with each other.  What a power couple!

Off that subject.  Inside was awesome.  They had several booths set up so we could all feel fabulous and have fun (I'm sure that was the point).  Some of the booths included:

Shimmerlys:  Tinsel for your hair.  It's similar to the feathering trend going on, except it's literally Christmas tinsel that they attach to a single strand of hair.  You can go crazy and do wild colors or be subtle as I was -- I went with the "Blondes Have More Fun" shade of yellow and now they're lightly accenting the highlights in my hair.  I know they currently have this as a secret service at Drybar.

Blo Blow Dry Bar:   Similar to my favorite, Drybar, they specialize in blowouts.  Drybar is precious, while Blo is blunt.  They are not afraid of a sexual innuendo.  "Because you can't Blo yourself" is their tagline.  The girls were wearing shirts that said "Blo Me."  I mean, I wish Sex and the City was still on the air so I could hear the thousands of puns that  Carrie and (especially) Samantha would be busting out.
They gave me a touchup at their booth and used some of their signature products on me, which smelled amazing.  I got compliments throughout the rest of the night!  Their blowouts costs $33 and have seven different styles to choose from, including the "Hugs, Sex and Rock & Roll," "Boho Braid," and "Holly Would."

Other booths included a vegan cupcake stand and a massage area for guests to enjoy a shoulder or hand massage.

They also had goodies for everyone.  On each cocktail table were little bottles of Voli Light Vodka in various flavors.  After meeting their publicist, I now have four flavors to try. I looked like an alcoholic, smuggling tiny bottles of vodka in my small purse.  Oh life.

I had a great time, met some great people and was in bed by 10:00.  Not a bad night!
