There's been so much I've been wanting to buy for myself lately. I usually have trouble shopping because I'm super picky and I am rather conservative with my money when it comes to clothes and fashion. But with my new job I feel compelled to up my fashion ante and really dress like a 25-year-old woman should, and feel put-together. Here's some of my favorites I've seen:
Looks super-flattering on and I was surprised it was a romper because it looks just like a dress. Feels like a second-skin -- it's that comfortable -- I love the straps. They give off a retro vibe (which is my absolute favorite). I didn't end up buying it, but I think I might head back to Urban and pick it up. If you're wondering why I'm taking photos of myself in a fitting room, I have a philosophy similar to Cher, which is, I rarely trust mirrors, so a photo was necessary. Plus I had to send it to Mom to get a second opinion.
These fit me tremendously, which is rare since most shorts fit right in certain places and are too big in others. Plus the color is so rich that they looks great with any top, and they're short but still long enough -- a must-have, because nothing is more unattractive than some of that under-butt action. Gross.
I bought this top and if you're looking for a form-fitting chambray, this is it. I usually stay away from those tops because I need things that cinch my waist (since I have hips and baggy shirts can make me look bigger than I am), and this one feels like it was tailored for me. Looks great with jean shorts or black cigarette jeans!
Lace Pull-On Bra Top, $29
I have a few of these and they're uber comfortable, but I especially love this paisley print because you can wear it under almost anything! The black one looks great under the button-down chambray.
The color is what has me lusting over this suit, but the cut is a close second. Like I said: if it's retro, I need it. And while it is expensive, the reviews on the site say that it's flattering on. Plus, I haven't gotten a new swimsuit in almost FIVE YEARS. Yes, this is the truth. Don't ask me how I managed.
And for the shoes...
Love the floral, and I think my mom actually wanted to buy these for me at one point. Who knows. And I'm not a shoe snob -- I love Jessica Simpson shoes. They're cute and comfortable.
MIA Teardrop, $53
I like how these are chunky and the color makes them appealing to any outfit! Obviously I'm a sucker for sky-high heels!
I have a pair of Steve Madden sandals that look just like this in beige, and I've almost run them ragged. Now that I think of it, Mom actually bought them for me. They're my favorite, but since they're old and discontinued, I need a new pair. Plus, I like the minor heel because I need a bit of elevation -- I hate flat feet!
Steve Madden S-Page, $36
A nice black espadrille. Similar to my MIA pair which, yes, I wear all the time, so I should probably upgrade.
Green is my favorite color, and I especially love mint green during the spring and summer. It pops against a tan, and complements a pastel pedicure. Plus they look nice enough to wear with a pair of white skinnies and a floral blouse to dinner, or for a pool party.
Another one by JS! It doesn't have a heel, but I can make an exception with the leopard print. These would easily dress up any occasion, whether you're running errands or going to brunch.
And that's what I'm lusting over! Hopefully I'll cross most of this off my wishlist within the next few weeks.
